MISSISSIPPI DAMNED will premiere on SHOWTIME, during the month of February as part of their Black History Month programming. The initial airing will be on SHOWTIME® SHOWCASE on February 1, 2011 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. The flagship channel will showcase the film on Tuesday, February 22 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. In celebration of our World Television Premiere and Black History Month, the Collectible DVD will be available for only $9.99 during the month of February at the Mississippi Damned Store.
Tina Mabry was named the James Baldwin Fellow receiving a United States Artist (USA) Fellowship for her work on MISSISSIPPI DAMNED. During an event at New York City’s Lincoln Center, Tina was among 50 artists who were honored. Each USA Fellow was chosen through a highly competitive nomination, application, and peer-review process. Experts across all disciplines and representing all 50 states are asked to nominate artists to apply for the award. Of the 301 artists nominated, only 50 receive an unrestricted grant of $50,000.
